Pietro Abela's Biography

Pietro Abela is the founder and visionary of The ARC (A Return to Consciousness) Institute. He is a master ARC therapist, and a distinguished teacher, mentor and workshop leader. He directs The ARC Institute in partnership with his wife, Melanie.

Pietro began on his path as a healer through his experience of teaching music in his early twenties. His colleagues often commented on his natural ability to communicate with his students. He guided them to learn from their own experiences and express their unique talents, skills and musicality. Through composing music, he learned to express deep authenticity, which prepared him to do the same in his healing work years later. Today, Pietro is widely known for his ability to help both students and clients express their unique gifts, abilities and passions.

Pietro was first attracted to the healing arts as a profession in 1986. He completed a two-year certification program at the Khalsa Health Institute in Seattle, WA, where he learned to assess physical conditions using kinesthetic techniques. In the process he discovered that he had a gift for energetic work. He began an intentional path of study and research on the physical manifestation of energy and emotions. This path led him to study with many well known individuals in the energetic health field, including Barbara Brennan and Rosalyn Bruyere. In his experience as a student, he saw ways that energetic healing could be taught more efficiently. He noticed a need for techniques that would allow the innate healing abilities of both clients and students to emerge. He also felt that increased supervision and mentoring would greatly benefit students.

When Pietro entered private practice in 1990 as an energy bodywork practitioner, he found that many of his clients expressed their inner emotional issues through the manifestation of physical symptoms. To address this, he pioneered a form of non-linear dialogue, which accessed the source of problems through re-structuring the client's emotional organization. Pietro's dialogue techniques were designed to dovetail with energetic bodywork, and going directly to the emotional core. Pietro's clients found that inner obstacles were removed more quickly than with traditional therapy, and that their personal life goals and desires were more readily realized.

Many of Pietro's clients began to approach him to learn his healing techniques. This led to the development of the Energy Dynamic Health and Self Care Program in 1994 and the opening of The ARC Institute with his wife Melanie in 1999. The ARC program initially attracted students interested in becoming Certified ARC Practitioners. However, other features of the ARC program have attract many students who are primarily interested in self-growth and personal development

The ARC Institute has continued to evolve under the guiding light of Pietro's vision, artistry and compassionate response to human needs. He is currently working on a book, A Return to Consciousness. Pietro maintains a busy private practice in Canada and the United States. He travels internationally with his wife, Melanie, giving presentations, classes and workshops for The ARC Institute.
