The Learning Environment

The ARC Institute has its headquarters in Qualicum Beach on beautiful, idyllic Vancouver Island, BC. ARC Classes are held in nearby Nanaimo, Courtenay or in the Duncan/Victoria area. The ocean and nature is never too far away. Students are always encouraged to make the most of the area’s natural attractions, with suggestions to visit the sea lion colonies, or to take a short hike to a forest, lake or ocean during a class break.

In addition to Vancouver Island, ARC Programs are currently held in two other locations: Calgary, Alberta and Seattle, Washington. The ARC Institute has handpicked facilities in each of these areas to provide comfortable learning environments for our students. Classrooms are spacious, bright and comfortable. Students have access to kitchen facilities, proximity to restaurants and areas for short walks and recreation.

Making Up a Missed Class

Programs in The ARC Institute are designed with the working professional and the busy parent in mind. Students who wish to complete all classes in the program may make up the missing class at any time. The ARC Institute holds programs in many cities and locations making it easy for students to make up classes.

Cancellation of Classes

If a student cancels a class 7 days prior to the first starting date of the class, there will be no refund of any monies.

If a student cancels a class at least 8 days prior to the starting date of the class, all monies with the exception of the $50 non-refundable deposit will be refunded.

Accommodation Options for Out-of-Town Students

We encourage registered students to arrange their own accommodations (perhaps with relatives, friends or at a hotel). However Community Director Jo-Ann Svensson will provide a list of recommended accommodations in the area classes are to be held with affordability and comfort in mind. There may be accommodations that have affiliation with The ARC Institute and therefore offer discounts to ARC members. Jo-Ann will forward such information upon request.

Sometimes fellow students will open their homes to out-of-town participants. This may or may not involve a small fee. A list of student accommodation options will be made available upon request.

Additionally we find that as the program progresses local students often will billet their friends for the duration of their stay.
