What does ARC stand for? ARC stands for A Return to Consciousness. What does A Return to Consciousness mean? A Return to Consciousness refers to our ability as human beings to awaken to our on-going journey with conscious awareness and to live a responsible creative life that offers greater choice, balance, compassion and inspirational living. At ARC when we speak of consciousness we mean opening up to a full awareness in all aspects of life. Returning to Consciousness is rediscovering our authentic strength and power, as well as experiencing physical, emotional, mental and spiritual tolerance to stress and thus disease. Returning to consciousness reflects healthier living, balanced relationships and career changes that reflect our innate passions. ARC is designed to take you a significant distance on the journey to a return to consciousness. What does The ARC Institute offer? The ARC Institute offers evening presentations, one-day seminars and certificate training that can be accomplished in weekend workshops. Topics range from personal growth and self-care to health education. The ARC Institute teaches professional and non-professional care of family, friends and clients. Where are the headquarters of The ARC Institute? The ARC Institute is based in Qualicum Beach on Vancouver Island, British Columbia, Canada. Where does The ARC Institute offer classes? The ARC Institute offers presentations and classes throughout Canada and the United States. How big are ARC classes? All ARC classes are limited to 24 participants. This allows each student to receive the maximum personal support and individual attention needed to have the fullest ARC experience. What is ARC work? ARC work (also known as ARC Bodywork) is a form of dialogue and creative journeying that can be combined with all bodywork modalities. Adding ARC dialogue or BodySpeak ™ to bodywork, allows the practitioner to converse with the client in a safe, nurturing way and to deepen the client’s bodywork experiences. As well, the practitioner has the ability to access any emotional system that may be contributing to the client’s physical symptoms and lack of wellbeing. How does The ARC Institute support the student's personal growth?
An important facet of ARC is support of the student's personal growth. While many join the Institute to learn ARC's practitioner skills an equal number attend
solely for personal growth.
What is the significance of ARC Certification? When you are a Certified ARC Health Practitioner, The ARC Institute acknowledges the attainment of a professional standard that permits you to offer ARC to clients. In addition, Certified ARC Practitioners may use the ARC name and logo, access professional materials, advertise their services on the ARC Website, and receive other marketing and promotional aid. What conditions are helped by ARC work? ARC has proven to be effective in the treatment of most physical symptoms, discomforts and disease conditions, both chronic and acute. ARC work excels in the treatment of emotional issues, especially those issues that impinge on lifestyle and have causative relation to physical complaints. ARC Practitioners have had success using ARC work with phobia and addiction, anxiety and depression, fatigue, low energy, post-traumatic states, abuse issues, eating disorders, spiritual transitions, digestive problems, immune disorders and recurring health conditions. Is ARC work similar to Reiki, or other energy-based modalities like Therapeutic Touch? As a hands-on energy bodywork modality ARC work has some similarities to Reiki and Therapeutic Touch. However, ARC's uniqueness lies in its blend of bodywork with dialogue and creative journeying. Consequently, an ARC Practitioner has the option of dialoguing in the session in a way that is ideally suited to bodywork. ARC training also focuses on practitioner self-care to the current professional training and experience. Can I experience an ARC work treatment? Yes. There are certified ARC Practitioners in many areas. All offer one-on-one treatments; some offer long distant treatments or phone sessions. There are ARC Practitioners who specialize exclusively in ARC. Others combine ARC with other modalities in which they are trained. You can learn more about current Certified ARC Practitioners by asking any ARC Representative or checking out the ARC Practitioner page on the website. When is emotional organization taught? Emotional organization training is first introduced in the Gateway Workshops. In these workshops we begin to see how our internal emotional structure directly influences symptoms, discomfort and the choices we make in our lives. This knowledge is gradually expanded upon in the subsequent classes. BodySpeak™, the ARC dialogue method, is introduced in the Journey of Consciousness classes. Why is there preparation work for learning emotional organization? Emotional organization skills are not learned by rote or memory; they evolve with guidance and practice. To observe and operate with emotional organization the student must possess the knowledge and ability to sustain a heightened awareness necessary to observe unconscious states and behaviors and therefore the emotional organization inherent in themselves and in others. With this foundation they are able to begin skillfully working with BodySpeak™ and gently re-training the inner emotional structures present in themselves and the clients they work with. How do students apply ARC teachings to their present careers/life paths? ARC does have many areas of specialty. Some that can be highlighted include:
