ARC Institute A Return to Consciousness

General Frequently Asked Questions

Why would I be interested in The ARC Institute?

The ARC Institute interests anyone looking to achieve greater awareness, effectiveness, health and balance to their personal and professional life. Our students generally are individuals who wish to learn about personal growth, consciousness and spirituality. Students integrate this work into their current professions, their relationships, or train to become Certified ARC Health Practitioners (CAHP). All our classes are designed to support your personal awakening and the manifestation of your life task.

Some of our students are inspired to move into completely new careers and projects applying the skills and training they received to enhance their life passions. Others integrate this work into their current professions for personal fulfillment and the enrichment of their clients and co-workers. For example, our graduates include university professors, homemakers, councilors and accountants.

Do ARC classes support my personal growth?

Personal growth and Self-Care is a fundamental element in The ARC Institute’s seminars and workshops. A central tenant of ARC is that internal change is reflected in external change. We believe that self-growth and development should catalyze the manifestation of one’s life desires and passions. We work toward this goal with all of our students.

Whether attending for your own self study, to add ARC skill training to your current career or to train to become an ARC Practitioner, the staff of the ARC is committed to supporting your movement into personal awareness and expansion on your road to greater consciousness.

When is ARC-Talk taught?

ARC-Talk is first introduced in The Essence of ARC class. The instructor demonstrates how ARC-Talk is used and its potential for internal change. Students begin to see how our internal emotional structure directly influences symptoms, discomfort and the choices we make in our lives.

This knowledge is taught to students and greatly deepened and expanded upon in the Journey to Consciousness Program and the Traveler’s Guide to Presence Program.

What are the differences between the ARC Programs?

The Traveller’s Guide to Presence: a personal growth and self-care series, that provides support, encouragement, instruction and deep individual insight for self-management, authentic relationship and the ability to lead fulfilling lives.
The Journey to Consciousness: a program specializing in dialogue and communication skills with the accompaniment of energy work. Focus is on the connection between emotions, life stresses and the emergence of pain, discomfort and disease. These classes teach you how to provide internal safety and better communication for your clients - as well as your family and friends.
The Healing Presence: energy work training with focus on practitioner self-care, hands-on skills in treating pain, disease and discomfort as well as preventative techniques to recognize and prevent the potential emergence of symptoms.
Leadership Training and Teacher Training: classes are available only to ARC graduates and Certified ARC Practitioners

How do I enter an ARC Program?

To enter an ARC Program you need to take one of the Gateway Introductory classes. There are two Gateway classes: The Essence of ARC and Personal Presence: Committing to the Path. Both qualify as Gateway classes. Please go to The Gateway Classes page for more information.

FAQ for ARC Practitioner Study

Why would I choose ARC over another health-care modality?

Every modality has its own specialty and approach. The ARC Institute looks at other modalities as complementary. Indeed ARC’s instructors are frequently invited to other schools and programs to give presentations or to offer supervision to students.

ARC does have many areas of specialty. Some that can be highlighted include:

Practitioner and Personal Self-Care
As human beings we enter the session with the client with the potential to be affected by the nature of that therapeutic relationship. The practitioner’s own issues will inevitably arise, and no amount of protection, energetic or otherwise, will prevent that. The key is in training the student to recognize when their own issues are present and interfering with the process and then, how to return to immediate balance and therefore effectiveness. This level of self-care can be applied to all walks of life.

Dialogue and Communication
The ARC Institute receives a lot of referrals from other schools because of its courses on emotions and how emotional organization relates to symptoms, discomforts and life style issues. The ARC Practitioner’s ability to work with core issue with a gentle manner and skills in dialogue and therapeutic communication attracts students and practitioners to either learn this method exclusively or to add it to their present modalities or vocation.

Healing as an Outcome of Presence
The ARC Institute also teaches that healing and health is a natural outcome of presence. While classes teach an abundance of techniques their success is dependant upon the practitioner’s abilities to sustain presence, centredness, the retention of fullness within themselves and their approach and disposition towards their own self-care. Healing then becomes an extension of the healer. ARC’s attention on these factors attracts a lot of students whose focus is primarily upon self-care.

The Emergence of Our Unique Gifts
The ARC Institute recognizes that all of us possess intrinsic healing gifts. The approach of one person invariably will be different to another’s - sometimes dramatically so. It is the intention of the staff to support the emergence of the individual’s unique approach while at the same time assist the student in recognizing what impedes their fullest expression both in their health work and in their lives in general. ARC instructors therefore place a lot of importance on the personal supervision of the individual student.

What is the purpose of assignments?

Assignments are optional for those students who wish to:

  • Have more study and support between classes
  • Achieve professional status as a Certified ARC Health Practitioner.
What is the significance of ARC Certification?

When you are a Certified ARC Practitioner The ARC Institute acknowledges the attainment of a professional standard that permits you to offer ARC sessions to clients. In addition, Certified ARC Practitioners may use the ARC name and logo, access professional materials, advertise their services on the ARC Website, and receive other marketing and promotional aid.

How do I receive certification?

Assignments are handed out in class as a means of further study and support between classes. Students may choose to do all of the assignments, some of them or none at all. This is purely an optional service offered by ARC and the faculty fully supports how the student chooses to participate in classes.

  • Completion of the Essence of ARC and all classes in two of the three ARC programs: the Journey to Consciousness, the Healing Presence Modalities and/or the Traveler’s Guide to Personal Presence.
  • Completion of assignments handed out after each class.
  • Give two ARC sessions to a client with an ARC faculty member in attendance.

This is a total of 1000 classroom, assignment and supervision hours.
